 [tey-ze] n.

aunt / Miss (but informal)

DT: mother’s sister

Turkish has no gender differentiations in grammar which makes things simple for a number of reasons, however they love to genderize everyone all the time. If you present feminine and appear much older than the speaker they might call you teyze. It is used on its own to address strangers or following their first name if you know them informally.
