The gesture: The “nah” gesture in Turkish culture is performed by tucking the thumb between index and middle fingers, closing the other fingers over it to make a fist (Yes, the I’ve got your nose gesture), and then flicking the fist upward from around waist level. This gesture signifies a strong negative response, akin to saying “no fucking way” or “you wouldn’t dare.” It is often used informally among friends and is recognized as a playful or dismissive sign.
