I'm Joy Schreiber, the brainchild behind all this. I'm a sociologist, language enthusiast, and world traveler, and in 2011 I planted my roots in Turkey. My move started with a promise to myself: learn the language, immerse myself in the culture by staying clear of expat communities, and give myself at least a decade. It was a success. After countless requests from friends for travel itineraries and advice from a foreign local's perspective, I decided it was time to turn my hobby into my job. So, here I am.
