[hoesh-bul-dook] greeting

thanks*** (in response to ‘welcome’)

DT: We found you pleasantly

After you’ve walked into an establishment or home, and most likely you’ve been greeted with a hoşgeldiniz , you can respond with a hoşbulduk, even if it’s just you (not to be confused by the ‘we’ in the direct translation).

***This does not mean ‘thanks’ on its own, or even in the context – ‘thank you’ is just usually the English response to “welcome”.
