[bek-lee-yor-um] verb phrase

I’m waiting / I’ll be here / take your time / looking forward to / please come

DT: I’m waiting / I’m expecting

You might be surprised by how often people in Turkey are waiting. In English, waiting implies that we’re not really doing much in the meantime, and a lot of the time waiting is not a nice thing. In Turkish, the focus is on our expectations.
